Rich Sobilo - Varsity Head Coach
With over 25 years coaching experience, Rich has been behind the bench for over 800 youth and High School hockey games at the House, Travel and Varsity levels, including 14 years at the Varsity helm.
A Bishop Noll graduate, Rich was MVP of both the Football and Hockey teams, racking up 70 points his Senior year. Rich continued his career at St. Mary's college in Winona, MN, then at the University of Notre Dame, where he lettered for 3 years and holds many individual season records, including Plus-Minus, SHG's, and GWG's. At both Notre Dame and St. Mary's, Rich was fortunate to be coached by coaching legends, Lefty Smith and Don Olson, respectively.
Rich started coaching at his alma mater in 1989 and almost immediately had success with the Warriors. The team and individual players enjoyed success both on the ice and in the classroom.

Kevin Smith - Assistant Varsity Coach
Kevin is in his fourth year Coaching at Bishop Noll and handles the defense and goaltending. He joins the Warriors from Southwest Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh Area). He has played and coached hockey most of his life.
Kevin played 2 years Midget hockey(Junior and Senior year of High School) with the Beaver County Badgers who played in a AA Major travel league and played against AAA tournament teams in Canada, New York, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In high school he played for the Montour Spartans, as a 3 year varsity player for the two-time North Division Champions. Kevin then skated four years with the Edindoro University Fighting Scots. A two time Captain, he led the Team in scoring his senior year.
He is a Level 3 USA Hockey Certified coach and coached with the Pittsburgh Vipers before moving to Northwest Indiana. He is married with two daughters and a son and lives in Highland. His wife, Carol, is a 2001 Alumnus of BNI.

Joshua Belko - JV Head Coach
Josh is in his third year of Coaching at Bishop Noll. Prior to Bishop Noll, Josh taught and Coached Hockey for the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation in Evansville, IN. He is a native of Merrillville and a graduate of Merrillville High School. He also Graduated from the University of Southern Indiana.
Josh played hockey in the Irish Youth Hockey League in South Bend. Josh played High School hockey for the Valparaison Hockey Club beginning in 2006, where he was part of the 4A State qualifying team. Following his Junior year, Josh played Junior Hockey for the Central Wisconsin Saints in the Great Lakes Jr. Hockey League, where he played for a Coach who has become one of the top Junior Coaches in the Country.
Josh resides in Merrillville and teaches Social Studies at Bishop Noll.
Frank Esquivel - Assistant Varsity Coach
Frank is also in his fourth year Coaching at Bishop Noll and oversees the Varsity offense. He holds a level 3 USA Hockey Coaching Certification. He coached for the St. Jude Knights Hockey Club for the last 4 years. His Bantam team took 2nd Place in last years NWHL Championship Tournament.
Coach Frank started his hockey career playing for Homewood Flossmoor at the Pee Wee and Bantam Levels. He then went on to Mt. Carmel High School and played JV and Varsity Hockey. He was a member of two Kennedy Cup Championships and 2 Illinois State Hockey Championships teams. After high school, he attended the Illinois Institute of Technology where he played College Level Club Hockey for the I.I.T. Scarlet Hawks before joining The United States Marine Corps. He is married with 2 Sons and 2 Daughters. His wife, Iris, is a 1995 Alumnus of BNI.
Mike Kaczur - Assistant JV Coach
Mike is in his second year coaching with Bishop Noll Hockey. Last year he was the Sin Bin Manager for the 2017 State Champion Warriors. He holds a Level 1 USA Hockey Coaching Certification. Mike has 11 years coaching youth sports in Northwest Indiana. He has experience as a Head Coach and as an Assistant Coach.
Mike is a graduate of Lake Central High School and Purdue University.
